Room with private bathroom, very nice and clean; the staff are very kind and in general the whole place is clean and safe.
Very modern and comfortable. The air conditioning was quiet and worked well. The bathrooms are spacious and clean, and there are enough of them for all guests.

A house open since August 2024
Madalena opened on 1 August 2024 on Rua Conselheiro Bivar, in downtown Faro. It isn't a recycled old hostel: it's a building set up from the start for curtained dorm beds, suites with private bathrooms and common areas that hold a full house.

Hostel energy, small-hotel standard
We're a relaxed house with traces of a small hotel: suites, TV with Netflix, shared areas cleaned every day and a team that gets things done. What we don't do is pretend to be a hotel — there's still a shared kitchen, talk in the lounge and people arriving with backpacks.

Cleanliness is a person, not a slogan
Cleanliness is the most repeated reason in the house's reviews — 9.2/10 across 1,172 Booking.com reviews. That doesn't come from marketing copy, it comes from the cleaning team that goes through the shared areas every single day and prepares each room between stays.
Facilities
Shared kitchen
A kitchen equipped for actual cooking: hobs, large fridges, crockery and a long counter. There's no breakfast service — there's a kitchen.
Dining room
Wooden-topped tables, white chairs and the house rules mural on the wall. This is where the house crosses paths in the morning, before everyone scatters.
Social lounge
Armchairs, sofas and the hand-drawn house rules mural. Nobody has to socialise — but this is where it happens.
Work area
An area for working or taking calls away from the middle of the lounge. Free Wi-Fi throughout the house.
Corners to sit in
Blue armchairs, big plants and daylight. Room to read or do nothing at all, without leaving the house.
Rooftop
A terrace on top of the house, open to every guest: sun during the day, a towel drying in the breeze and a drink at the end of the afternoon, with Faro all around. The house's official name for the space: Rooftop.
Laundry
Washing machines and dryers available to guests, free to use. Useful on longer stays.
Lockable lockers
Every dorm has free lockable lockers, plus luggage storage for your departure day.
